Make or model is not an issue. Cars lunge in lower gears when RPM's are either too high or too low when shifting.

If your vehicle has an automatic transmission you may be low on transmission fluid, causing your transmission clutches to slip. Or if manual transmission possible clutch failure.

This problem is normally attributed to a wearing Torque converter. That is the part between the engine and transmission that acts as a pressure transfer.

if you're talking about the parking lot lunge this is common in many if not almost all standard transmission vehicles because they are in such a low gear it's hard for them to move as slow as you're going.
