The largest culprit for electronics failure is heat. Some things to try are cleaning around the unit to eliminate dust and to use compressed air to clean inside the unit.

Well if it is shutting down by itself, then there must be something wrong with it. Perhaps there is a defect and you need to go and replace the parts.

Sometimes DVD players shut down unexpectedly, due to various reasons. It could be that you have a short somewhere whithin the player, or that you have a faulty disc. It could also be something simple, such as there is not enough battery charge.

The dvd player could be over heating. You could try to leave it off for a few minutes and try again. Or it could have a short in the wiring.

There are several possibilities. One, is that the power supply on the DVD player is going bad. A second is that it is over heating, a third is that it isn't plugged in well to the wall or the unit.

Perhaps there is a manufacturing defect with your dvd player. Google the brand name and see if there are any defects that exist.

First of all it could be an electrical issue in your home or apartment. I would first check the outlet that it is being plugged in to. Second, dvd players are everywhere. Make sure you buy a name brand and research what you see before spending cash on it.

2 reasons for this. 1. If you leave it running but on pause there might be a timer to turn it off. 2. It could be overheating.
