Why does my DVD freeze?

Freezing happens when the player tries to reread the same portion of the dvd repeatedly. Try cleaning the DVD first. Also try playing the same DVD on a different player to see if that works. Some dual layer discs pause briefly in some dvd players as well. That is normal.

There could be two reasons for this. First reason could be that the DVD might have a lot of scratches on them. Second reason could be that there is a problem with the DVD player which could be dirty and malfunctioning.

Many of the common problems for a DVD player freezing involves the reading of the content of the media CD/DVD, your CD/DVD might be scratched, your reader might be dirty.
