It takes up to several weeks for the cat's womb to shrink back to its original size. The same is true for women after giving birth.

If your cat recently had kittens she could have an infected uterus or she could have retained a kitten, so get her checked by a vet.

If your cat was pregnant and had recently had a litter of kittens then it may take sometime for her abdomen to go back to normal.
