Cats sometimes vomit just because they ate their food too quickly. They also will eat grass to induce vomiting when they are having trouble with hairballs. Sometimes they don't just throw up hairballs and vomit the contents of their stomach instead. Finally, your cat could have eaten something it shouldn't have.

A lot of cat foods have contents that can cause vomiting. I would get a cat food just for sensitive systems. Hairballs can cause vomiting also.

She still could be sick so be sure to visit your vet. But if she vomited a piece of hair with saliva, that's normal - cats spend a lot of time grooming themselves and they eat a lot of hair. Get your cat some cat grass (sold in every pet shop) and that should help.

Often cats will eat their food far too quickly which results in them vomitting most of it back up. Eating grass will also make them vomit.

There are several reasons for a cat to vomit. It becomes more common with age. They will also vomit if they have a hairball or upset stomach.
