Why do some black women want to have straight hair?

Maybe one of the reasons is because they want to try something new. I have a straight hair and I always wanted to have my hair curled but my hair does not stay curly long enough. It is just nice to try something different than what you are used to. It is like an adventure or something.

This is because some want to model their hair after current fashions, and will change their hair however is needed to accomplish this.

It's easier to maintain with growth and looks more elegant than curly or frizzy hair. You can always style it differently and more easily as well.

They have been taught to think that they aren't naturally beautiful subconsciously believing that european features are better. Self hatred is evident when people alter how God created them.

It is probably for the same reason that women of every race want hair different from they have--many women think another type of hair would look better.

Black women want to have straight hair because they believe if their hair looks like this, it looks better. It is said that men like wemen to have this kind of hair. The straight hair is very nice, but it is rarely met at black women, so those who have it straight are very proud of it.
