Why do people like hermit crabs as pets?

People like the idea that the hermit crab takes very little care. They are a clean pet that doesn't make noise or messes.

One, they are entirely low maintenance as pets. They are a pet oddity with no information or books written about them. They reflect ourselves, sitting there doing nothing, living a life of eating and sleeping what some of us would love to do! It is odorless and clean and it requires little attention. Perfect for a pet!

Hermit crabs make great pets in todays economy, because they dont require much much food so its cheap to feed them and they dont require alot of attention.

Hermit crabs make an extremely good pet because they are very easy to take care of. They are also a good pet because it is very easy to make a relationship with a hermit crab. they are great.

People can say the same about fish. They crawl around their cage and have large claws so they are always fun to watch moving around.

People have varying opinions for pets. You can also argue that fish don't do anything either but people love them. I suppose because you don't have to walk them or bathe them or groom them. And changing and feeding is also quicker and less messy. Not to mention there are not vet visits and they are cheaper to "replace".

Some poeple like hermit crabs because it makes them calm. People like to watch at them. It is almost the same like watch into aquarium, it makes people very calm.
