Why do people leave marriages after 30 years?

Lives change. Your dad is not the same person he was 30 years ago, neither is you mom. They both may have wanted different things.

In some cases, it is the result of adultery. In some cases, couples that had significant conflicts stayed together until the youngest child was grown; once there were no longer any dependents, they felt able to separate. There are also occasions in which the man simply wants to live through a younger spouse, to the detriment of the current one.
