No, just like having those big country stars on houses, it's a personal choice. It can look very nice with houses of a certain color, there is a new fad in having grey, cranberry or slate blue houses, in which a black door may appeal to a certain taste. It's a generational thing like choosing hardwood over carpet. A statement.
