What is the temperature of your pond? When its colder your fish could resort to going lower. However if they are hiding and eating normally, they may just be stressed by either new surroundings or even from a predator visit. Just give them time, some take months, and try to get into a habit of feeding them.

Hiding is a perfectly natural behavior for Koi, especially if they are young or have recently been introduced into a new environment. Koi can seem invisible for months.

A symbol of beauty and love, they are shy fish and hide from predators they believe will hurt them. Make sure the water temperature is appropriate. If stressed, they will "blush" on fins and body-red appears on their fins, between the spines, and underneath the scales. Some have been known to hide for several months and just reappear one day!

Your Koi fish keeps hiding because it is feeling uncomfortable to its environment. The fish is scared that is why it keeps on hiding. As soon as it gets comfortable with its surroundings, it will be more visible and will stay out.

Check the water flow- low oxygen levels in water will make fish less active. Also make sure no moving light from objects (mirrors, glass, etc.) are reflecting into the water.

Koi aren't meant for aquariums, they're pond fish. In a pond they'd have plenty of cover, so make sure to duplicate these conditions in an aquarium for their best health.

If they are pond fish, it's possible there is a predator near by that is picking them off. If not, then it is possible they simply are not tame yet.

That is normal all fish hide some times. There isn't anything wrong with the fish at all. They are playing hide and seek with you. Hope this helps with the question.

Your koi could be hiding from direct sunlight. They like shady places to stay during the day and can actually get too hot if there is direct sun. If it is a new environment for them, they may need time to adjust, too. They can be shy like that.
