Why do my houseplants have tiny flies?

How can I get rid of them?

They are called fungus gnats. Spray your soil with some insecticidal soap this will kill any remaining larvae. Place 1/4-1/2 inch of sand over your potting mix.

The tiny flies you see are actually soil gnats that feed on the organic matter in dirt. To get rid of them, water the plants with soapy water.

There's something on the plant that must be attracting them. You could probably visit a store and get some safe pesticide for the plant to get rid of them.

Gnats flock to plants. There are sprays you can buy or naturally do it by leaving an inch in an old wine bottle, they will drown themselves in it.
