Why do my high beams work when my driving lights don't?

I have a 1993 Chevrolet Cavalier.

I assume that by driving lights you mean you low beams. If the high beams work but the low beams don't then that bulb is probably damaged. If you have a dual filament bulb with highs and lows combined one side could still work but not the other. Try replacing them. If that doesn't help it could be the switch.

Your car is old enough that there are probably two seperate bulbs in the headlights, one for low beams and one for high beams. The bulbs for the low beams have probably burnt out.
