Why do I have an itchy groin at night and the morning?

Jock itch can cause an itchy groin. It is a fungal infection in the groin area. Check with your doctor. It's easily treated with medicated cream.

If it is Dermographism, it is caused by the Mast cells in the surface of the skin releasing histimines when touched. It is also possible that getting hot can make your rash worse as well if you have what is termed adrenergic urticaria. but if it is Dermographism, it is usually a life-long condition.

If you have an itchy groin, then it is probably not getting enough air. You should make sure the areas are dry and have air flow. Wear cotton underwear and loose clothes. If this problem persists, go see a doctor.

There is a lot of sweating in this region and the excretion remains on skin skin of groin. Before going to bed please wash the area with soap and water.
