Morning glory vines along a fence or climbing a tree are simple to remove but labor intensive. Pull the root structure out of the ground at the base of the plant. If they are spreading in the ground cover, you will either need to shade the area or replant it.

There is no getting around using an herbicide. You will need to spray at least twice because Morning Glories are stubborn. Be careful not to spray near shrubs, or trees.
