Why do blue collar workers vote against their interests?

Answer by  Tnm84 (23)

The interests of blue collar workers are not always uniform and therefore their political preferences vary. For some workers economic interests take priority and they may be likely to support candidates who support unionization, minimum wage, etc. For other workers social interests take priority and they may be more likely to support candidates that support traditional values, pro-life, etc.

I think this has more to do with their upbringing. If your taught your whole life to think in a certain way its hard to break that mold within your mind. So they honestly think they're voting for who best cares for them when its the opposite.
