Why are some people afraid of clowns?

Some people are afraid of clowns due to a lot of different reasons. There is no one reason why people are afraid of clowns. It could be the make up which scares people.

Yes!!! it is because of that movie! and the term for the fear of clowns' is called Coulrophobia. it is not funny! I have been suffering from it ever since i saw that movie. But it seems that my fear has directed towards kiddy show clowns instead of the scary looking ones. weird but true
