Who would win a fight between arctodus and smilodon?

Arctodus had a slight advantage in size and strength, as well as in speed. While smilodon resembles the feline animals of today, its bone structure suggests that it would not have been as quick. Arctodus could run swiftly in short bursts and probably could have attacked smilodon before he knew what hit him.

There's a lot of facets to this. I vote for Smilodon- because big cats tend to scope out their prey, have excellent slashing and tooth ability, are quicker and more agile. Arctodus would tend to attack full on, on sighting an adversary, whereas Smilodon would tend to attack from cover and triangulate the attack. There are actually websites on this.

The answer to this question is relative, but I think smilodon because he/she's a cat and cats are faster and more cunning than bears.

Arctodus had many characteristics similar to a modern bear and thus would have been resilient even through injuries. Smilodon was much like modern lions and even though it had amazing agility, it would not have compared to the strength/power of Arctodus.
