polydore vergil is known as the contemporary historian during the early tudor dynasty. He was educated at bologna. he was hired by henry vii to record his and his fathers whole lives. some of Polydore's works are Liber de Prodigiis and Historia Anglica.

Polydore Vergil or Virgil as he is popularly known was an Italian historian. He was sent to England in 1501 by Pope Alexander VI as a sub collector of Peter's pence. He was commissioned by Henry VII to write about the history of England in 1505.

Polydore Vergil was born circa 1470 and died in 1555 at the age of 85. He was a historian in the tudor period and worked for the tudor royal line, most notably for king Henry the eigth to document his and his father's lives
