Jacques Derrida was a French philosopher of the twentieth century. He developed a philosophy, deconstruction, that was a reaction to an earlier philosophy, structuralism. This philosophy largely regards language and language structures and is a prominent form of literary theory but is relevant to a range of human constructions.
