Who makes the best external hard drives?

Seagate is a good brand, though not one of the biggest. Western Digital is a very reliable brand, but they did have some issues with a recent batch of hard-drives.

I'm a computer technician and in my experience I can tell you Seagate makes a very good product you definantly can't go wrong with them. I hope that I have been some help.

I have used seagate products before and only once had a problem (this was with a frinds drive which was not treated well) they are normally fine. I prefer Western Digital products, which are great value, i have never had a problem with one and the build quality is fantastic.

All products uses the same principles, so there are not many differences between them. It is mostly marketing. Seagate products are fine, as any others, my 10 years old hard drive is still working.
