Sony makes the best dvd players by far. Dvd players have a tendency to stop working eventually due to the laser reader breaking. Sony really showed their quality in releasing the playstation 2. The dvd player on the PS2 was top notch. Even the really cheap dvd players they make are far better than most companies' best models.

Sony DVD player is best in everything. I have one and its performance is superb and easy to use. One of my friends says Oppo DVD player is too good. But I go for Sony only. Playback is solid and video output is in a progressive format for compatible TV.

It depends on personal preference and what you, as the buyer is looking for. People tend to trust the brands that have been around for years, such as RCA.

DVD players have become very standardized, to the point that any brand will function for basic DVD playing and entertainment purposes. Go with the cheapest option.
