Porfirio Salinas (1910-1973) was a Texas-born landscape painter who spent most of his life in San Antonio. His paintings focused on the hilly terrain of central Texas, often featuring the bluebonnets that are the Texas state flower. He earned national fame when President Lyndon Johnson declared Salinas his favorite artist. Today his paintings remain in demand and command high prices.

He was a Mexican-American landscape painter born in Texas who died in 1973. Although mostly self-taught, his paintings were collected by people like President Lyndon Johnson and Speaker of the United States House of Representatives Sam Rayburn.
