Henri Fayol was a French Mining Engineer and management theorist, born on Kuly 29, 1841 and died on November 19, 1925. He developed the theory of Scientific Management. He is the father of Fayolism or the theory of business administration. Fayol has published a number of articles and books which helped contribute to the modern concepts of management.

He was one of the most influential contributors of the modern management concepts. The six functions of management from the Fayolism perspective are : forecasting, planning, organizing, commanding, coordinating and controlling.
