Chrysler has produced more hemi engines than anyone. The first example of the design is the 1903 Welch built by Chelsea Mfg. Co. Who invented it is a mystery.
In 1948 Harry Westlake, along with other, designed a six cylinder engine that would be used in a Jaguar. In 1951 Chrysler produced the eight cylinder engine for their crs.
