Archangels are angels of high rank. There are found throughout many different religions. In Catholicism, the seven archangels are St. Michael, St. Gabriel, St. Raphael, Uriel, Phanuel, Zarachiel, and Simiel. In Eastern Orthodoxy, the seven archangels are Michael, Gabriel, Raphael, Uriel, Selaphiel, Jegudiel, and Barachiel. The only archangel mentioned in the Bible is Michael.

According to the teachings of Eastern Orthodoxy, the seven archangels are the following: Gabriel, Uriel, Michael, Raphael, Barachiel, Jegudiel and Selaphiel. In Catholicism, the names of the seven archangels are the same, excepting that of Selaphiel from Orthodoxy, which can be found in Catholicism under the name of Sealtiel.
