There are many manufacturers of Network Interface Cards. The chip manufacturer on the NIC is not necessarily responsible for making that particular card. among the most common names of nic manufacturers : amd, asus, d-link, hp, ibm, intel, linksys, netgear and realtek.

There are several NIC card manufacturers. To name a few: IBM,SMC Allied Telesis, Inc., Intel, Belkin, Cisco,Linksys, STARTECH,SuperMicro, D-Link, Syba,Netgear Inc., QLogic Corp., Trendnet, Rosewill, VisionTek, Hewlett-Packard, and SIIG, Inc.

There are lots of manufacturers, it depends on what computer company you a buying from. They could be made in house or at a hundred different companies.
