The tabernacle of Moses was actually a tent called the Tent of Meeting (NIV). It was mobile as the Hebrews wandered the desert 40 years before entering the promise land. Starting at Exodus 26, you can find many verses about the tabernacle of Moses. Fyi... Solomon build the first edifice.

You have to remember that Moses and the Israelites were nomadic for about 40 years. The tabernacle was portable and moved from place to place.
