The liver is located just below the diaphram in the right upper quadrant of the abdomenal cavity. It overlies the gallbladder to the right of the stomach. The liver is the largest internal organ and the largest gland in the human body. It is a vital organ and has many functions.

The liver is located in the upper right quadrant of the abdomen, right underneath the lowest rib. In fact, the ribs serve as protection.
