Disneyland opened in 1955 in Anaheim, California. People sometimes confuse it with Disney World, which opened in 1971 in Orlando, Florida. There are actually five Disney Resorts around the world, home to 11 different individual theme parks. The other Disney resorts include one in Paris, one in Tokyo and one in Hong Kong.

Disneyland, the original Disney theme park, is in Anaheim, California, USA, not far from Los Angeles. The nearest airport is LAX. Disney World is in Orlando, Florida. There are also Disney theme parks in Tokyo, Japan (known as Tokyo Disney) and the suburbs of Paris, France (known as Euro Disney).
