Start with your local carpentry union. Call and meet someone there who can give you an idea of how to get into the profession. Contact your area vocational education school or community college to look at what classes are available. Let friends and family know your interest.

There are diferent places, one is on the job at a construction site or at school in woodshop you can take a class at a community college, from family members.

One idea would be to work with a carpentry as a helper or an apprentice. Another idea might be to try classes at a vocational technical school.

The best thing to do is to contact your local library which will have details of local colleges. They may even have lists of courses so you can see if there's a carpentry course near you.
