From fear. So whenever you think negative, just think to yourself that you will not let fear take over, that you are stronger and that you really have a choice not to think negatively. So why not think positive? Positive is the only way to be anyway.

Negative thoughts come to me when I'm not doing well in life,in a way not successful and I see people around me happy and getting everything they want and I don't seem to get that, that is when my negative thoughts come.

Negative thoughts occur when your body doesn't have high enough levels of serotonin. If you are in pain of something bad happens, then that is generally what will cause negative feelings.

From the universe (and the self). Depending on the circumstances surrounding you, you will be in a better or worse mood. You don't have to think about it, though; you can just feel. That makes things much more bearable.

Negative thoughts come from with ourselves. All people have doubts and insecurities as part of being human. These lead to negativity. No one is immune. The only way to reduce the negative thoughts is to deal with the underlying doubts, guilt and insecurities.

Positives come from God while negatives come from satan. Ask a Bible believing pastor who TOTALLY BELIEVES the WHOLE Word of God! Have him point out positive and negative scriptures and parables (stories) related to them. Your choices determine which ones you receive. Memorizing scripture eradicates the negatives satan sends.
