Larry Bird, a native of French Lick, Indiana, started his college career at Indiana University. He transferred from there to Indiana State University which is in Terra Haute, Indiana. He led the Indiana State Sycamores into the National Championship game which they lost to Magic Johnson and Michigan State.

Larry Bird attended three different schools after high school. He went to Indiana University, Northwood Institute and finally finished at Indiana State University.
