Usually, the best people to get to watch your house is family. If you do not have family available to watch your home a close friend would be the best person to call upon. If that is not an option a good neighbor could also help you out. Anybody that you trust will do.

I would go with someone I knew really well. That is the best kind of people to trust. If you go with a stranger they can claim to be anyone. If you go with someone you know you already know that person.

House sitters can be found usually by talking to a neighbor you know or thru word of mouth. Sometimes a family member is willing to come and stay at your home while you are away, which is ideal. Finding out who may have used a housesitter previously can also help find one for you.

I would look to family and friends then rather than hiring someone. Ive seen many horror stories of house sitters burning the place down, robbing owners blind, or not working at all!
