A good place to start to look would be community colleges in your area or your local vocational school. You should also look in the yellow pages under schools to find any listings. If you are still unable to get any information you might want to go to your closest unemployment office and see if they have any information.

Almost all employers and state law require a stenographer to have formal education in stenography. The National Court Reporters Association screens training programs for excellency in reporter education and lists schools by state. Certificate programs can range from 1-4 semesters.

You should be able to take a stenography course at a college. Perhaps at some local adult education councils? I would recommend checking the phone book for those resources.

Stenography isn't popular anymore, with all the advances of word recognition technology. Try a websearch to see if anything is available near you or put an ad in the paper.
