It usually includes radio, television, film, newspaper and magazine publishing, as these are used both for news and for advertising. Some mass communication courses cover technical, audio and visual design and layout for locations such as arenas, sports complexes and beach facilities. The college you wish to attend will have a course catalog and it describes each course.

These are courses about methods of talking to alot or one, with a focus on broadcast news media would focus on how to be non biased and dig for all the fact. At the same time you would learn how to present them in a way that people enjoyed to hear.

Classes in public speaking, public relations, business or media law are more general classes that would apply. Sometimes even an intro to communications may be offered.

Television and radio broadcasting courses that are offered in junior colleges tend to be on a similar level to those found in full four year colleges. Taking a mass communication class of this sort in junior college makes good sense. While Debate and Drama are not technically considered mass communication, they are related and also valuable.
