Well if you have the internet that you be the place to go. You will need to know what kind of fishing you will be doing because reels vary a lot when is comes to different types of fishing. Once you know what type of fishing you will be doing i would try fishing blogs of go to youtube.

Use google to find a site that has a community of people who discuss the quality of different fishing equipment. You could also subscribe to a fishing magazine.

My suggestion would be to order a catalog from Bass Masters as each type of fish requires a different reel.

You might go to the beach and ask someone that is fishing with a reel some questions about the reel that they are using.
