Before you start drawing cartoons, it's a good idea to draw from what you see to get a grasp on proper anatomy; even the professional animators often warm up by drawing realistic pictures. Other than that, Scribd has some free books that teach you how to draw cartoons.

I would do a google search to see what pops up. You might also check ehow and see if there is anything there, since they are a good step by step place.
