You can find these instructions online by doing a simple search for your phone's manual online. Many manufacturers provide this information as a PDF document.

you can log on to the verizion web page type in the model of the phone in the search box. if the phone is a recent model you should be able to download or read a manual off the site. older phones may require you to go on the manufacturer's site which also provides the same info

You can go to Verizon's website to get help, or you can just call them. Call them from a landline or another phone though because they'll guide you through the process. If you want to try to just do it yourself, dial *225 from your phone and make the appropriate selection.
