Where can I do some recreational gold mining in Oregon?

You can legally pan for gold in any running water on Bureau of Land Management and US Forest Service lands in Oregon. The best chances for finding gold are where it has been found in the past however, so try the Quartzville or Butte Falls Recreational areas, or the Applegate Ranger district.

Butte Falls has some amazing streams available to pan in. I would say that its been one of the better spots by far in Oregon.
