Star Wars was released on DVD in 2004, with the first three films in the trilogy released together in a box-set. These featured limited bonus features. They were released separately a few years later with two-disc special editions. The prequels have all been released on DVD about five to six months after their theatrical release.
The first official release of the Star Wars Trilogy (consisting of the digitally enhanced Special Editions of Episodes 4, 5 and 6) on DVD was in September 2004.
