Really as a parent this is your decision. Most new parents are just excited to introduce solid foods to their baby. Your baby is physically ready for cereal between 4-6 months of age, however, there could be some reasons that you don't want to start that early.

You should always talk with your pediatrician before introducing new foods. With pediatrican's okay, you can introduce cereal to your infant when he or she reaches four months of age. Many people give cereal in a bottle to babies less than four months, but this method is usually not recommended by doctors.
