Every rose bush is trimmed the same you always do it in the spring and you only take the very brown parts never ever cut antything that is green that way the plant can continue to grow and not die back.

The best time to prune any rose is in the spring that way you can go by what the plant tells you is good and just trim the brown. If you do it in the fall you risk cutting it back to far and effecting the next years growth.
