Young bunnies can eat solid foods as soon as they are weaned from their mother. Young rabbits should be fed things like kale, field greens, carrot tops (carrots are very sugary and should be given in moderation) and small pieces of banana. Alfalfa hay is also required for young bunnies to help break down hairballs in their stomachs.

Once a bunny is completely weaned from it's mother, around eight weeks, begin feeding healthy vegetables. Feeding to early can cause deadly digestive problems. Remember, introduce foods in small amounts.

You can start feeding rabbits fresh vegetables as soon as they are eating solid food. They typically start eating solid food at around 3 weeks old. If you got your rabbit at a pet store, it was probably 4 to 6 weeks old when you got it. Rabbits like crisp, crunchy vegetables.

Never feed vegetables to a young rabbit. It isn't necessary and will cause more harm than good. Fresh vegetables are too rich and will cause irritation of the digestive tract. Feed a diet of rabbit pellets, hay and water. An occasional carrot for a rabbit older than six months is acceptable.

You need to wait until they are fully weened and then slowly introduce raw vegitables into their diet. No lettuce it cause rabbits to have diarrhea. If you notice the rabbits having a bad reaction to certain vegitables then stop feeding them to them. Every rabbit is different so you need to adjust amounts and types to fit yours.
