When is it okay to take my piercing out?

I've had it for almost 4 months and I want to know when it'll be okay to take out for a while without it closing. Does it ever not close up?

Examine the area around the piercing to determine it has healed. There shouldn't be any redness, leaking nor should it be warm to the touch. If you determine the area healed, remove the piercing. However, it's probably not a good idea to leave the piercing out for days at a time. Remember, everyone heals differently and it could close up.

Well I guess it all matter on where your piercing is on your body, usually for the ears it is around 6 weeks. On the or anywhere else I'm thinking around 8 weeks.

If you've had the piercing for 4 months, it should be safe to take it out. The tissue will be healed and a permanent hole will remain. Some things that will cause a piercing to close can be an infection, or an allergic reaction to the metal in the jewelry.
