They are repeat bloomers. For the first two years, leave them alone and don't prune. After that, use the 1/3 method-each year prune back 1/3 of the oldest canes. Prune climbers in early winter.
Shrub roses will bloom during the summer and when the temperature is moderate, shrub roses can even bloom at all times throughout the year as long as the climate is excellent for the growth.
