Good placement for tattoos with wings and spreading features is the back corner of either shoulder blade, from the nape of the neck to the arm pit. The front between the collarbone and the arm pit. These placements allow for something elegant in a small to medium size tattoo.

Traditionally they go on your back since that is where they would be if you actually had them. If you just get wings they may be out of place somewhere else. If you have a good artist though they probably could make them work somewhere like your leg or arm.
