If you are looking for a review more of the man than his work then its Carles Nicholls "Leonardo Da Vinci: The Flights of the Mind" if you want a more full description of his works then read "leonardo Da Vinci: The Marvellous Woks" by Martin Kemp, read both as one cannot get an accurate picture from 1 book

I really enjoyed "How to Think Like Leonardo Da Vinci". It is not a traditional biography but instead really delves into his genius.
