A supervisor's attitude must walk a fine line. They must remain friendly with their employee's in order to maintain a happy work environment, while still keeping authority over his staff. If they become too friendly then the workers will feel that if a task is unfinished then nothing will happen.

A distant attitude is the best, but there is a fine line to not seem stuck up like you are better than the employees or you'll lose respect.
