To make a baseball cake, you can take a round one layer cake. Put vanilla frosting over it and buy a tube of red frosting. Using the tube, make lines on the cake that look like the stitching of a baseball. Then add small lines on the bigger lines to make it look complete.

Use a simple round cake pan for the actual ball and use a loaf pan for a bat. Trim the loaf pan part with a bread knife in the form of your bat then frost with lemon icing.
