It's all about finding the right toys. A child can only have 1 toy and have enough engagement with that.

My daughter has a lot of toys, but the truth is, she rarely plays with most of them. It is best to get just a small amount of toys that your child will really be interested in. If a certain toy doesn't get her attention, put it away for a later time.

I don't think that there is a certain set amount of toys a child needs. If you want her engaged, pick up toys that will make her use her imagination.
